Triglav climb from Vrata valley

There are three Alpine valleys that are going bellow Triglav from Mojstrana. Vrata are the valley on the North side of the mountain. Triglav looks the most impressive from here, as from Aljazev dom you see the whole North face and the summit almost 2000 meters above you.

There are three via feratas leading towards Triglav from Vrata valley. The easiest one and the most commonly climbed is Prag route. It has three steeper sections with some easy ground in between. The second one is Tominsek route. It starts on a normal, but steep trail through the woods, but as we build up the height also the views open and we reach the cables quite soon. Once on the cables we are climbing an exposed, but well protected via ferata till we join with Prag route an hour bellow Triglavski dom. Usually it takes us around 5 hours to reach the hut on both options. There is no water on the mountain, so make sure you have enough of water and snacks for five hours long adventure. The third option is Plemenice(Bamberg) route. That is the hardest route to Triglav, as it is on exposed ground all the time, but there are really limited cables to make your way easier. Another thing that makes this route the hardest is, that there are no huts on the way, that means that we need around 6 hours to the top of Triglav and another hour and a half till Triglavski dom.

For Prag and Tominsek route we have another 400 height meters to ascend from Triglavski dom to the top of Triglav, but because of exposed terrain(via ferata) ascend and descend together usually takes between 3-4 hours.

Descend back down from the hut to Krma valley takes around 4 hours.

If the weather allows us we climb to the top of Triglav on the first day, as that way is easier for most of the guests. That means that you will start the climb around 8 am and you will be down in the valley around 1 pm on the second day.

If there are possible thunderstorms in the afternoon, we will start the hike around noon on day 1 and ascend the top of Triglav on the second day. That means you will be down in the valley around 5pm on the second day.

As we can’t predict the weather too far in advance you will get the time of departure on your email a day or two before the climb.

Half board(diner, breakfast and sleeping) on the mountain hut is 50€, beer is 4,5€, 1,5 litre of water is 4,4€, 0,5 litre of water is 2,3€… Usually guests spend between 60-70€ per person on the hut.

As we are descending to another valley, there is additional cost for transfer on this route, which is 40€ for the whole group.
